Note: This article is written by UMUI Rent a Car, which operates the Naha Airport and Omoromachi branches. We have ranked ourselves first, and the information on other companies is based on what we could confirm on each company’s official website as of October 2026.
You step off the plane, collect your bags, walk out of the arrivals exit, and then stop. “Which way is the rental car shuttle?” This is the first thing many people wonder when they rent a car at Naha Airport.
At Naha Airport, the rental car offices are outside the airport, and you ride a shuttle bus from the stop assigned to each company. In this guide we compare five companies on three points: where the shuttle stop is, how long the ride to the office takes, and how to walk there from the arrivals exit. We have also collected tips for staying calm in busy seasons.
From the Arrivals Exit to the Shuttle Stop

If you arrive on a domestic flight
Leave the domestic terminal through exit 3 or exit 4 on the first floor and cross the crosswalk. On the sidewalk on the other side, you will find the rental car shuttle stops lined up. Each company has its own stop number, so look for the number of the company you booked.
The first-floor arrivals lobby also has a rental car information counter (9:00-19:00). You cannot pick up a car there, but it is a useful landmark if you lose your way to the stops.
If you arrive on an international flight
From the international terminal, go from the second floor down to the first floor on the domestic terminal side and head for exit 4 of the domestic terminal. From there, it is the same crosswalk and sidewalk as for domestic arrivals. The official site of OTS Rent-a-Car also says that international arrivals use the same stop.
Stop names are changing
Since January 9, 2026, Naha Airport has been reorganizing its curbside to add more stopping spaces for each mode of transport. Since March 1, 2026, digital signage has also been in use at 6 bus stops on the first floor. Along with this, the names of the stops are being changed. For example, OTS Rent-a-Car’s “10-A” is scheduled to become “R-10” (timing not yet decided). Check your booking confirmation email and the company’s official site for the latest stop before you travel.

Tips to Avoid Shuttle Trouble in Busy Seasons

- Confirm your stop number before you land: Stops differ by company, and their names are changing. Save the number from your booking confirmation email in your phone’s notes.
- Do not plan on the shortest ride time: Some companies, like Nippon Rent-A-Car, warn on their official sites that it “may take around 1 hour.” In busy seasons, plan on it taking longer than the stated time.
- If you arrive in the evening, check opening hours first: UMUI Rent a Car and Toyota Rent a Car are open until 20:00, and ORIX Rent-A-Car until 19:00. If your flight is delayed, contact the office early.
- On days with a lot of luggage, split up: Have one person collect the bags and another wait at the stop, and you will use the waiting time well.
- In bad weather, check the shuttle status: The official site of Budget Rent a Car says the shuttle does not run during a storm warning. In typhoon season, ask the company you booked in advance.
- Allow the same time on your return day: After you return the car, you take the shuttle back to the airport. Work backward from your departure time and return the car early.
How to Choose by Priority

- You want the shortest possible time from the airport to the office: Toyota Rent a Car, with a shuttle ride of about 5 minutes (shuttle by advance reservation)

- You arrive close to evening: UMUI Rent a Car or Toyota Rent a Car, both open 8:00-20:00
- You arrive on an international flight: OTS Rent-a-Car, whose official site explains how to get there from the international terminal
- You want to return the car somewhere else: Toyota Rent a Car or ORIX Rent-A-Car, which allow one-way rental within the main island of Okinawa
